We hope you have all had a lovely half term, it was lovely to hear the children share their experiences of places they had visited, things they had done and how they had dressed up on Halloween.
We’ve had a wonderful week exploring space! The children have loved reading “Whatever Next!” by Jill Murphy joining Baby Bear on his exciting adventure to the moon. Inspired by the story, we have been learning all about planets, talking about what we might see if we went into space, and creating some fantastic space-themed crafts. The children made rockets, painted planets, and played with the playdough – making planets and their own solar systems.
We have also celebrated Guy Fawkes Night, learning why people enjoy fireworks at this time of year. The children have been talking about how to stay safe if they are watching fireworks this weekend — remembering to wear gloves, put sparklers into carrots to hold them safely, and cover our ears if the fireworks are too loud.
Next week our topic will be The Five Senses. We will be exploring sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell, through a range of fun and engaging activities to help the children discover how we use our senses to explore the world around us.
For parents with children aged 3 and 4 years who have a birthday before 31st August 2022, the school admission application process opens on Monday. Applications and further information can be found via the Essex County Council website:

Please ensure your child has a bag containing spare clothes each day. We currently have a very low back-up supply and may need to contact parents or carers if we do not have anything suitable available for your child to change into.
โจ We hope you all have a fun and safe weekend if you’re watching any fireworks!
