Education and curriculum

We follow The Department For Education’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which is mandatory for all early years settings.  We are registered and inspected by OFSTED.

The EYFS sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.

Our curriculum consists of everything we want children to experience, learn and be able to do whilst attending our setting. It is based on Develop Matters, the non-statutory curriculum guidance and meets the requirements of the educational programmes in the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Use the following link for more information about Develop Matters.

For every child attending the Pre-School their key person will commence an online learning journal which will provide a two-way communication to record and celebrate children’s learning and development both in the setting and at home. Parents are asked to regularly contribute to the learning journal to support their child’s development.

Children’s development is monitored regularly and additional support is accessed when required. We have close links to agencies offering further support including Speech and Language therapists, Health Visitors and other qualified professionals to ensure your child reaches their full potential. Children are given the opportunity to extend their knowledge with challenging activities to solve problems which promote self-confidence.
