We’ve had a wonderful week, full of curiosity, creativity and exploring our senses.
This week, the children have been busy exploring their senses through a variety of hands-on activities. They enjoyed touching and smelling different herbs and creating natural crafts using items from our environment. A highlight of the week was blowing and popping bubbles, the children practised their motor skills by popping the bubbles using just one finger. It has been wonderful to see them discovering new textures, scents, and movements.
Today, we talked about Children in Need and enjoyed a range of themed activities. The children loved making Pudsey Bear crafts and decorating biscuits, and of course, eating them as a very special snack-time treat!
On Tuesday, we observed a two-minute silence for Remembrance. All the children were wonderfully calm and respectful, and we were very proud of how well they participated in this important moment.
We are very grateful to Perryfields Infant School for kindly allowing the Bumbles children to use their EYFS playground from this week. The children were fantastic at following the instructions to use the obstacle course safely, and they absolutely loved the experience - they can’t wait to have another turn! As always also a huge thankyou to Perryfields Junior school who let us use their undercover playground on wet days, we are very lucky to be supported by both schools.
Our staff took part in Oral Health Training this week, which was extremely informative. We learned some useful tips we wanted to share, including the importance of having a drink after eating. This simple step helps wash away bacteria and can reduce the risk of tooth decay for both children and adults.

If you have recently upgraded your Christmas tree and have one you no longer need, we would be very grateful for any donations. Your generosity would help make our preschool feel even more festive this season!
A gentle reminder to please let us know if your child will not be attending their session. You can contact us on 01245 264110 or email springfieldbees@hotmail.co.uk. If we do not know the reason for your child being off we will need to call within 30 minutes of their session starting.
Today we said goodbye to Kirsty, who has now left Springfield Bees. Kirsty will be moving house very soon and is also expecting her baby girl next month. We will miss her greatly, and we know many of the children will too. We wish Kirsty all the very best for this exciting new chapter and send her our heartfelt congratulations and good wishes.
