Weekly Roundup 7 March 2025

This week, our Book of the Week has been Jack and the Beanstalk. The children have had a fantastic time creating their own beanstalks, designing their own gardens, and sowing seeds. They are eagerly looking forward to watching our flowers grow! We also had a discussion about what we’d like to plant in the coming weeks—carrots and potatoes were the top choices! A huge thank you to everyone who donated flower and vegetable seeds, we are so lucky to have such supportive Parents and Carers! We’re excited to plant them soon and enhance our outdoor space while learning how to care for plants.

We’ve been busy celebrating St David’s Day and International Women’s Day, making beautiful daffodils with paint and printing with flowers. The children also enjoyed decorating masks for Mardi Gras.

Pancake Day on Tuesday was a delicious treat! The children had the opportunity to taste pancakes with a variety of toppings, including lemon and syrup.

On World Book Day, it was wonderful to see the children dressed as their favourite book characters. The creativity and enthusiasm were fantastic! We have been reading throughout the week in different ways, on bean bags, role playing with stories, performing puppet shows based on our favourite books.

With the lovely weather this week, we’ve taken full advantage by spending even more time outdoors. Daily outdoor play is so important for children’s physical health, helping them to run, jump, climb, and chase—supporting stability, bone density, and muscle development.

Please return your parent agreement forms by Tuesday 11th March so that we can claim funding for your child/children next term, in addition invoices for the next term have been produced today, please find these on the Tapestry app.

Lastly, it is with great appreciation and sadness that we share the news that Rachel will be leaving Springfield Bees next week. We sincerely thank her for over 14 years of dedication and hard work, and we wish her all the very best for the future.

Looking ahead, our topic for next week is ‘Healthy Eating, Healthy Mind’, and our Book of the Week will be Oliver’s Vegetables.
