Weekly roundup 28 February 2025

Welcome back to Preschool, we hope you all had a lovely half term break. We have enjoyed a very mixed week of weather. The rain has been reminding us about changes in our environment and weather patterns, whilst the sunshine and warmth on our skin reminds us of spring and the changes that occur. We have been observing new growth, bulbs peeking out of the ground and spotting snowdrops and daffodils. We have completed our first of two weeks learning about gardening and growing. Our stories are Jack and the Beanstalk and the Tiny seed, we have been reading these in a range of ways including role playing and acting the story out. We have also been making our own garden collages during craft time. Bumble’s children have been planting seeds today such as strawberries, spinach and tomatoes. We look forward to watching them grow over the next few weeks, and hopefully taste testing in the near future.

Garden Donations: If you have any extra gardening supplies like seeds, small pots, or even gardening gloves, we’d love to have them to enrich our learning experience.

Next week we have lots to celebrate including St David’s day, Shrove Tuesday, World Book day and International Women’s day.

To celebrate World Book day we encourage children to dress up on Thursday, and throughout the week - we would love to see their outfits. A variety of activities will be happening throughout the week, so please bring in your favourite books to share with your Key Worker and friends, and feel free to borrow some new books from our book library for your bedtime stories!

We welcomed a new member of staff this week Zoe, she is a Level 2 practioner and will be based in the Honeys room please feel free to say hello.
