Weekly Roundup 5 July 2024

Good afternoon, as you can see from our pictures this week we have been busy bees, embracing our topic of ‘Our wonderful world and holidays’.

We have been lucky enough to welcome Perryfield's Junior Schools year 6 reading ambassadors throughout the week to read to the children and as you can imagine this was very well received by all of the children and we are very grateful to have such strong links between our local schools. It was lovely to welcome back some familiar faces and for them to recall their time at Springfield Bees.

Honeys room have been playing with the beach themed sand and water tray, exploring shells and sea creatures, and the children who will be transitioning into Bumbles in September have been visiting the Bumbles room during the weekly sessions.

Bumbles room have been talking about holidays and days out and the children are keen to share their experiences during circle time. The sand art was a popular craft this week as was the Jumping bean game which is a part of our busy bodies project. On Friday the children have been baking the "No added sugar Banana oatey bar", using apple sauce instead of oil, and a ripe banana as it is sweeter. The children are very eager to learn about healthy eating and this activity has really engaged this interest.

We are also pleased to share that we were featured in Nursery World this month. This is a prestigious magazine in our sector, winning their star photo prize.

Have a lovely weekend
