Welcome to the penultimate Weekly Round Up for this academic year. Our topic of our wonderful world and holidays is into its second week and the children have been using a range of art supplies to create beach pictures. We've also read more stories related to holidays and shared our own experiences of trips out and family holidays using our All About Me books. Do remember to take these home before the end of term and add some pictures of what you've been doing over the summer. The Bumbles had some fun creating puffer fish using baking soda and vinegar in balloons. Crystal helped the children with the fiddly job of filling the balloons before the children stamped on their puffer fish and watched them grow!
You can try this at home by watching the video on Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a45oTcFQ_dI.
The Honeys room made England flags with the children so these could be waved when watching the football earlier in the week. Football Fever is still high at Pre-School with many children talking about the games and dressing in their favourite kits. Let's hope it's a happy occasion for everyone in the final this weekend!
As we wind down towards the end of term children are being sent home with their wellies and All About Me books. For those returning next year, we'd advise you to check your child's shoe size and bring in a pair of named wellies in September. Another reminder for any children with medication/inhalers is to check that these are in date and that the dosage is correct. Please liaise with your child's Key Person about this or any changes in your child's needs, including dietary requirements.
For the Bumbles, next week at Pre-School will be their last. Friday's plans will be a chance for us to get together and celebrate their time at Springfield Bees. Expect a few tears from staff and parents! Do take another look at the information for the Bumbles graduation day which was sent out to the Bumbles parents last month.
We've had quite a few children coming in to Pre-School unwell and being sent home after being sick. To help keep the spread of infection down, please be aware of our sickness policy and keep children at home after any vomiting or diarrhoea until at least 48 hours after their last bout.
We'll be having more activities and fun related to holidays and our wonderful world next week. Let's hope the sun shines a bit more than it has recently so we can perhaps enjoy some ice-creams as a treat!
Have a great weekend.
