We have had another lovely week. We have been learning about Easter and about how people celebrate it around the world. Viktoria shared her memories of growing up in Slovakia, it is tradition for the Women to give the men a gift for example an egg and the men throw a cup of water over the woman, which is believed to ensure a woman’s beauty.
We have also celebrated Holi this week, Holi is a Hindu festival that celebrates Spring, Love and new life. For many Holi is a time for fun. During the week the children have been exploring mixing and using different colours of their choosing. Happy Holi to all of our families celebrating this joyous occasion.
During the next term the Bumbles children will be doing some focused school transitions sessions with their Keyworkers, these will involve having a range of school uniform and PE kits in our role play area, which will familiarise them with the kind of clothing that they will be required to wear in September, also looking at pictures of our schools and some of the activities we will be doing for example lessons, assemblies and PE.
Updates have been put on Tapestry for your children with a summary of our Spring term, please see these and be advised that at the bottom there is your child’s next step for the Summer Term.
Please can we remind parents and carers to put children in comfortable, weather appropriate clothing for preschool which promotes independence e.g shoes with velcro and jumpers with zips. We ask children wear sensible footwear when attending the setting. They play outside regularly where there is climbing equipment and other apparatus, and therefore shoes which fasten properly and preferable with grips are recommended. Please no flip flops.
We wish you the very best Easter break, we look forward to seeing the children when we reopen on Monday 15th April, as always please send pictures via the Tapestry observations and the children can share their experiences during the sessions and at circle time.
