Weekly roundup - 28 January 2022

A busy and fun week has been had at Pre-School this week! On Tuesday we celebrated 'Burns Night', the Scottish celebration of Robert Burns the legendary poet! The Bumbles class enjoyed painting bunting to hang, 'cooking neeps and tatties' at the tuff trays (a Scottish meal of turnips or swede and potatoes!) and finding out more about poetry, sharing some famous poems at circle time.

The children also enjoyed bird spotting on Friday, taking their clipboards outside and ticking off the birds seen on their record sheet. The children discovered we have a lot of seagulls in Springfield!

The Honeys class have also been bird spotting this week and they even made their own binoculars to help! They enjoyed making bird feeders too which they hung on the trees outside on the field.
Lots of fun was had during our Moo Music session on Thursday, the children went 'vegetable hunting' and played some excellent air pianos!

Linking in with our Scottish celebrations, our cooking recipe this week was shortbread, delicious!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you all again next week!

Our colour and shape for next week will be black and triangle and the Bumbles class will be exploring the story, The Elves and the Shoemaker.
