🐷 This week we have been enjoying the story The Three Little Pigs. The children have been busy making their own houses using different materials and thinking about which materials would be strong enough to build a house.
🏠 We have also been using pictures to retell the story and encouraging the children to recall events and talk about what happened. It has been lovely to hear the children using language from the story in their play.
🍂 Bumbles have also enjoyed going on nature hunts, looking carefully for different coloured leaves, twigs and feathers and marking them off of their checklist's.
Children have been looking at their 'All About Me' books, these are a great way for the children to feel safe, secure and for them to build bonds with the staff and children.

At Springfield Bees we support children’s speech, language and communication development. Children’s back-and-forth interactions from an early age form the foundations for language and cognitive development. The number and quality of conversations children have with adults and their peers throughout the day is incredibly important.
You can support your child’s language development by:
💬 Talking - talk to your child about what they are interested in and what they are doing.
👂 Listening - give your child time to respond and show that you are interested in what they have to say.
❤️ Cuddling - spending time together, sharing books and having conversations helps children feel secure and supports their communication.
🌱 Modeling language - repeat what your child says and add a little more language or new vocabulary. For example, if they say “big dog”, you could say “Yes, a big, fluffy dog!”
For more information and support, please visit Talk, Listen, Cuddle, they have a family resource libary available with lots of different ideas of activities www.tlc-essex.info.
We have a lending library in the hallway for families to enjoy together. Please feel free to choose a book to take home and share with your child. You can choose a book at the beginning of your child's session or after 3pm.
When you bring a book back, please let us know and we will give your child a sticker. ⭐
As part of our Harvest Festival, we will be collecting food donations from Monday 28th September until Friday 9th October.
Our donation basket will be available in the hallway. All donations will be greatly appreciated and will be donated to support those in our local community. ❤️
Springfield Bees Preschool is a committee-run charity, and our committee plays an important role in supporting the running and future of our preschool. We are currently looking for a new Chairperson, as well as welcoming new committee members who would like to get involved and help support our preschool community. You don’t need to have previous committee experience - just an interest in supporting Springfield Bees and helping us continue to provide a wonderful setting for our children and families. If this is something you would be interested in, please do speak to Sophie, who would be very happy to have a chat and answer any questions.
Please find information regarding the Essex SEND Local Offer Roadshow, which is being held on:
📅 Monday 12th October
⏰ 9.30am – 12.30pm
This is a useful opportunity for families to find out more about the support and services available for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
A gentle reminder to please ensure that you collect your child promptly at the end of their booked session. This helps us to maintain our staffing ratios and ensures that our staff are able to finish their sessions on time. A £15 late collection fee will be charged if your child is collected after their session ending time.
Thank you for your understanding and support with this.
