🐝 We have had another busy week at Springfield Bees, which has included lots of time spent outside exploring, climbing and moving. It has been lovely to see the children enjoying the outdoors and developing their physical skills through their play.
💛 We have also continued to welcome new children and families into Springfield Bees. Our team have been spending lots of time getting to know the children, building strong and positive relationships and helping them to become familiar with their new surroundings.
🌈 We understand how important it is for children to feel safe, secure and settled, particularly when starting preschool. We are working hard to provide the children with the reassurance, comfort and consistency they need to feel secure, develop trusting relationships with their key person and begin to confidently enjoy their time at preschool.
🍎 This week we have been learning about Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The children have enjoyed learning about some of the traditions associated with this special celebration.
🥖 As part of our learning, the children had the opportunity to taste Challah bread, which is traditionally eaten during Rosh Hashanah. The Challah was kindly made by Viktoria for the children to try. We also tried apples and honey, which are traditionally eaten during Rosh Hashanah to symbolise the hope for a sweet and happy New Year. The children enjoyed trying the different foods and learning about these traditions.
🐝 A very big thank you to Viktoria for taking the time to make the Challah bread for us - it was very much appreciated!
🏷️ We kindly request that all of your child's clothes and belongings are clearly named, including coats, jumpers, bags, water bottles, drinks, lunchboxes and Tupperware boxes. We have lots of similar items coming into preschool each day, so having everything clearly named makes it much easier for us to make sure belongings are returned to the correct child.
Next week, we our topic is My Family and Pets. We will also be exploring the book The Three Little Pigs and enjoying the story together through lots of fun activities.
We will also be sharing “We All Belong” by Nathan Goss, supporting our ongoing focus on belonging, friendships, relationships and celebrating what makes each of us unique.
