This week at Pre-School the Bumbles class have been exploring the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We have looked at the life cycle of a caterpillar and the stages it goes through before turning into a butterfly.
The children explored this in craft by making colourful caterpillars and butterflies and practiced their numberwork whilst making pompom caterpillars sat upon their very own leaves.
The children enjoyed small group work where they used props to retell the story. In cooking the children made blueberry muffins, which involved lots of stirring and counting as they added in the blueberries!
In Honey’s the children were celebrating Love your Pet Day by looking at all things pets! We were thrilled to be visited by Sid the Rat and his owner Kayleigh who works as a veterinary assistant at Vets4Pets.
Kayleigh talked about what vets do and how they help our pets - she also told us lots of information about rats! This led to lots of role play, craft, stories and conversations about vets, pets and animal welfare. The children even made a fish tank and added their own coloured pet fish.
The children were also learning about oral hygiene and why it is so important to brush our teeth - they used various coloured toothbrushes to clean our giant teeth in the water tray.
The children enjoyed their Superstar Sports football training on Tuesday afternoon, showing off their fabulous ball control skills and Moo Music was full of fun and singing on Thursday!
If you have been emailed a funding form can we kindly ask that this is completed and returned to the pre-school as soon as possible. Thank you!
