Weekly roundup - 22 April 2022

A very warm welcome back to all our Pre-School friends and families! We have had a great first week back, with the children very excited to share with each other all the fun things they had got up to over the Easter holidays...and how many chocolate eggs they had eaten!

We were all very pleased to see how much our seeds/plants had grown outside! The children have been busy watering them this week and there has been lots of discussion about what our plants need to stay healthy and grow. We look forward to seeing them progress even more over the coming term.

We are extremely grateful for all the gardening club donations we have received from our parents and grandparents! A very big thankyou to you all!

We celebrated the Queen's birthday on Thursday, crafting crowns and 'making tea' for Her Majesty in the tuff tray, and on Friday we made St George's day flags to mark St George's Day on Saturday! The children enjoyed listening to the story of St George and his dragon slaying adventures and dancing to some traditional English folk music. We also discussed how to keep our planet clean in recognition of World Earth Day.

We baked cinnamon rolls during our cooking session this week, a very popular choice of recipe with the children!

We are hoping the sunshine and warmer weather is here to stay for our Summer Term so we can implement lots of our activities and learning opportunities outside. Can we please remind parents to put a named sunhat into their child's bag during these warmer weeks and that sun cream is applied before your child comes into Pre-School.

Our colour and shape for next week is white and triangle.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you all again next week!
