Weekly roundup 20 November 2020

This week has been full of singing and dancing to celebrate World Nursery Rhyme week. Choosing which nursery rhymes and songs to sing has many benefits for children of all ages. They help children to develop literacy and early numeracy skills - think of 5 little ducks and row, row, row your boat which involve linking words that rhyme and counting numbers.

Singing also helps children to develop personal, social, and emotional skills and songs are often part of circle time that involves interaction. Rhymes boost vocabulary and language development by helping children learn new words and understand how sentences are structured.
