It’s been an incredibly busy week at Pre-School with children observing Armistice day, Children in Need and Diwali.
The Indian festival of lights extends over five days. Because of the lights, fireworks and sweets involved, it's a great favourite with children. It celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance, although the actual legends that go with the festival vary in different parts of India.
Some of the children dressed in traditional Indian clothes and made Diya lamps which are lit to help the goddess Lakshmi find her way into people's homes. Both rooms learned about why we wear poppies to remember those that died in the war.
