Good afternoon Parents and Carers,
🌼 We would like to welcome all of our children and families back to Springfield Bees, and give a very warm welcome to all of our new children and their families. We hope you have all had a wonderful summer! ☀️
🐝 We have had a busy couple of weeks at Springfield Bees, making sure all of the children are settling in well and getting to know everyone. The children have been busy making playdough, getting creative at the craft table, trying some new snacks and, of course, making new friends to play with.
Our Honey’s children who have transitioned into Bumbles are doing so well! They have been building lovely relationships with the Bumbles team and getting to know their new Keyworkers. We are really pleased with how well they are settling into their new room.
Please can we ask that children do not bring toys into preschool this term. Last term, a couple of toys were unfortunately lost, which was upsetting for both the children and their families. We also don't have enough time at the end of each session to search for lost toys, so we would really appreciate your support with this.
Please can we also ask that each child has a pair of welly boots at preschool. It is completely up to you whether you choose to leave them here or take them home each day. Having welly boots available means the children can enjoy outdoor play whatever the weather!
Please ensure your child comes to preschool in appropriate clothing each day and has a coat with them, particularly as the weather can change throughout the day.
If you would like to purchase any Springfield Bees uniform, please do ask Sophie or Viktoria for a form, and to view. Uniform is not compulsory, but it can be a great way to help protect children's home clothes from getting covered in paint, glue and all the other wonderful things they get up to at preschool! 😊
Please can we request that your child brings a bag each day containing two sets of spare clothes, including underwear and socks. Please also provide nappies and wipes if your child requires these.
Please ring 01245 264110 or email springfieldbees@hotmail.co.uk before your child's session is due to begin if they will not be attending.
As part of our safeguarding procedures, if we have not been made aware of an absence, we will contact you within 30 minutes of your child's expected start time.
We understand that parents and carers may give their child Calpol, paracetamol or ibuprofen when they are unwell or uncomfortable. However, if your child requires medication to reduce a temperature, pain or other symptoms in order to be well enough to attend preschool, we ask that they remain at home, in line with our illness policy.
Medication such as Calpol can temporarily reduce a child's temperature and make them appear much better and more comfortable than they actually are. This can make it difficult for us to accurately assess how well your child really is, and the effects of the medication can wear off while they are at preschool.
Our priority is always to ensure that children are well enough to comfortably participate in their day at preschool, while also helping to protect the health and wellbeing of all our children and staff.
If your child has needed Calpol, paracetamol or ibuprofen because they are unwell, please allow them time to recover at home before returning to preschool. We really appreciate your understanding and support with this.
Please be reminded that we are taking part in the Nourishing Our Future Award, which encourages healthy eating and drinking.
Children's water bottles should contain water only. If you would like to pack juice or a carton of juice in your child's lunchbox, that is absolutely fine. 😊
Please also note that we require fruit in lunchboxes to be prepared appropriately for young children. For example, grapes and berries should be quartered and apples should be cut into thin slices.
I have popped in our Early Years Choking Hazard information, this is how we need to serve food, both that we have prepared, and from packed lunches, to ensure children's safety. Please note as per the guidance children are requested not to bring marshmallows, sweets or popcorn for lunch.
Please can we ask that you are mindful at the end of sessions, as we often have multiple parents and carers waiting outside. It is important that everyone is able to clearly see their child leaving through the preschool door and coming to them, for safety reasons.
Thank you for your understanding and patience while we make sure every child is safely reunited with their parent or carer. 💛
Please be aware that photos that our on our weekly round up are from the children that have consent to be on social media, as our weekly round up is put onto our website, and some photos are used on our Facebook and Instagram Page.
Next week we will be continuing with our theme ‘All About Me’.
Our books of the week will be The Gruffalo and We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, which we are sure the children will enjoy exploring together!
As always, we are here to support you and your child. If you would like to arrange a chat or meeting with your child’s Keyworker, Sophie or Viktoria, we are always happy to arrange this. Please never hesitate to come and speak to us if there is anything you would like to discuss.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
