This week in the Bumbles class we have been talking about....Ourselves! We painted self portraits, using mirrors to look at our faces, identifying what colour paints we needed to use. We made collage pictures of our houses, using different sized shapes and have enjoyed lots of role playing, 'At the Doctors', 'Washing the babies' and 'Dentists'.
On Thursday we marked Remembrance day by making poppy card crafts and poppy paint printing. We discussed why we have Remembrance day and why it is special to us, we even joined in with the minutes silence whilst we were outside.
The children made biscuits during their cooking session this week, weighing, measuring and mixing the ingredients they needed and once baked, icing them red to represent a poppy.
The Honeys class have enjoyed participating in some exciting experiments this week! Mixing baking powder and vinegar to create an 'erupting volcano' saw the children enthralled into how it was happening and what would happen next!
They've enjoyed lots of outside play, with lots of fun had connecting the drain pipes and seeing which balls they could roll down them. Honeys also marked Remembrance Day by paint printing poppies and exploring the red and black rice in the tuff trays.
On Thursday, the children enjoyed another great Moo Music session. This week the children had to practice their balancing skills by balancing a star on their head and then trying to keep all the bouncing stars on top of the parachute, ending the session with lots of bubbles.
Another fun filled week completed! We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we'll see you all again next week for lots more fun!
Our colour and shape for next week is purple and pentagon and the Honeys class will be exploring the story Dear Zoo.
