Weekly Round Up - 9 July

Another week, another Pre-School roundup!

As the end of term draws nearer, the children have enjoyed lots of fun filled activities together this week!

This has included getting technical and directing Bee-Bot the class Robot, making their own craft 'Ice-cream', 'worms' in the playdough and lots of teamwork outside, connecting the drain pipes to make a ramp for the balls to slide down!

Again, our circle times were filled with lots of wonderful discussion and conversation, sharing 'starting school' questions and answers with one another, how we keep ourselves healthy and safe and of course, England, football and the Euros!

Today we all shared our predictions for Sunday's football match, recording them on a big chart....Who has guessed correctly?

We iced and decorated biscuits during our cooking sessions this week.. although many of the biscuits unfortunately didn't make it home with the children being quite keen to 'try' their delicious masterpieces after they had made them!

We experimented with colour mixing during our STEM sessions, prompting lots of questions of how and why and understanding processes.

The Honeys class have been exploring the story 'Sharing a Shell'. The children participated in lots of sensory and craft activities to help extend their understanding of the story. They made 'rock pools' in the tuff tray using ice, water and coloured rice, shell printing and investigated 'sea creatures' hidden in the ice!

Our colour and shape for next week is brown and oval. We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and we'll see you for lots more fun next week!
