Weekly round Up - 27 May 22

The last week of this half term has been filled with fun and learning at Pre-School. For the Queen's Jubilee the children have been busy creating red, white and blue masterpieces using a variety of media. They listened to the National Anthem and spoke about the royal family. I'm sure there will be many celebrations over the half term and we are asking for any spare bunting or party items that may be used to be brought in so we can celebrate the first week back (6 June). It often makes more sense for children to engage in activities after experiencing events to help reinforce meaning and help with learning.

Carrot cake was on the menu for some of the children and they enjoyed mixing and combining ingredients before taking home their culinary delights. Great opportunities for maths and understanding the world.

In Superstar Sports the children met coach Nick and enjoyed playing dodgeball on the field!

Lots of small groups have taken place with school transition in mind, caterpillar maths and following sequences with the magnetic beads. Transition visits from the Honeys children have been going well with children enjoying the toys in Bumbles and even putting on a puppet show!

In Honeys the book of the week was the Very Hungry Caterpillar and children made their own wriggly worm using playdough, supporting development of their fine motor skills. Our gardening is going fabulously and the children are learning so much about where vegetables come from and how important it is to keep them watered and sheltered. There should be an abundance of beans, tomatoes and peas ready for summer!

Don't forget to upload any photographs to Tapestry of what has been happening over the break. We do enjoy talking to the children about what they have been doing at home.

Have a lovely half term and see you all after the break!
