Weekly round Up - 20 May 22

The children have enjoyed a variety of different activities this week. With the weather being so lovely, we've spent lots of time outside exploring, we even got to try out the newly painted sport lanes on the field, making our own races to compete in!

The children have been watering the plants and even harvested our first produce this spring, radishes! The children predict the strawberries will be next! On Wednesday we also released some of our butterflies into the wild.

We've been busy getting arty this week, using the large rolls of paper to create together and junk modelling with cardboard boxes.

We've been discussing the importance of oral hygiene to mark National Smile Month and we have also been talking about Car Safety, why it's important that we wear our seatbelts and why we sit in car seats. This prompted lots of conversation amongst the children. If you would like to continue with this chat at home, https://saferessexroads.org/ has some great advice for you to share with your children and to refresh yourselves.

We made yummy pitta pizzas this week, with the children selecting their own toppings to add before putting into the oven to cook, and we've had lots of 'independent snack making' too, with the children choosing which spread to put on their bread and spreading themselves.

Parents evening proved to be a great success on Tuesday. It was lovely to be able to welcome parents back into Pre-School. All feedback received back was really constructive and positive, thankyou to all those that came and filled the feedback forms in.

Sun-cream Notice

During these warmer months, please ensure you apply sun-cream to your child before they come into Pre-School. We like to make full use of the wonderful open space outside we have especially when the weather is sunny, so it's important your child is protected from the sun. We thankyou in advance.

Today we waved goodbye to Jenny, who leaves us to start her maternity leave. We all wish her the best of luck and wait patiently for the arrival of another future Springfield Bee'er !

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and we'll see you all again on Monday! Our colour and shape for next week is gold and square.
