Weekly Round Up - 25 June

'It's coming home... It's coming home...' It's been a football themed week at Pre-School this week with football anthems playing out through both the Bumble's and Honey's classes in celebration of the Euros!

As a class, we have been talking about the competition, looking at the different countries that are competing and finding them on the map.

We've been busy making flags, designing our own football shirts and we've played our own games of football on the field, practicing our ball skills!

Strawberry Cheesecake was our cooking recipe this week with the children enjoying crushing biscuits, scooping out the cream and chopping strawberries making their own delicious dessert to take home!

We made 'bionic hands' during our STEM sessions, using straws and string to move the 'fingers'.

The Honeys class have been busy too with lots of discussion about 'Summer time', painting ladybirds and butterflies, designing their own sunglasses (for National Sunglasses Day) and crafting wands (for National Fairy Day!) They have also enjoyed looking at their new class Visual Timetable, helping to develop their understanding of the class routine and knowing what's happening next during the day.

***The Bumbles Class children have taken home their 'Leavers Party' invitation this week.

The party will be held on the last day of term, Tuesday 20th July, 12.30-2.30pm. If your child doesn't attend Pre-School on this day, please drop off your child at 12.30pm. Pre-School will be supplying a party lunch, so no need to bring a packed lunch on this day! We hope to see all our Bumbles there to celebrate together!***

Our colour and shape for next week are purple and square and the Honeys class will be exploring the story Supertato!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we'll see you all next week!
