Another busy and fun filled week completed at Pre-School! This week we celebrated 'Healthy Eating Week' and 'Oral Hygiene Awareness' with both the Honeys and Bumbles classes participating in lots of discussion about the importance of healthy eating and why we keep our teeth clean.
Activities included 'teeth brushing', using toothbrushes and toothpaste to clean our large tooth props, collaging, vegetable and fruit printing, cutting and sticking healthy lunch boxes and role playing 'Dentists' using the dolls as 'patients!'
We've also been busy creating something special for Sunday, Father's Day! During circle time we spoke about the positive male role models we have in our lives and why they are special to us.
Egg muffins was our cooking recipe this week, with the children working in pairs to measure the ingredients and choose the healthy fillings to mix in. STEM this week was all about structure and construction, with the children making their own catapults using lolly sticks and rubber bands, which proved a very popular choice of activity!
The Bumbles class have been practicing their maths skills with lots of number recognition work and weighing and measuring different media using the large scales and discussing capacity. The Honeys class have enjoyed constructing, using their fantastic listening skills to follow the instructions and team work to build a den!
As always, our Moo Music sessions on Wednesday and Thursday were full of music, dance and lots of giggles, and with the glorious sunshine shining on us this week, we all enjoyed a well deserved ice-lolly on the field for snack!
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and a Happy Father's Day to all our lovely dads and grandads! We'll see you all next week!
Our colour and shape for next week are green and heart. We will also be having a football themed week next week in celebration of the Euros....so children, please do wear your football shirts/kits to help in our celebrations! (if you have one!).
Have a great weekend.
