Another fun and fabulous week has been had at Pre-School!
The Bumbles class have enjoyed exploring the story The Tiger Who Came To Tea, making real tea, their own sandwiches and using real china during snack time. There was even a visit from a real tiger who helped the children with their teapot of milk during snack time!
In the tuff tray the children explored the story further using various objects, utensils and textures to ignite their imaginations. In craft they made tiger masks and pictures with were roarsome!
There was also small group work, using our props to explore the story of the Very Hungry Caterpillar, which is still a firm favourite!
It felt as though Spring had really arrived as our gardening season got underway with lots of seed, soil, digging watering and discussions. The children enjoyed their Superstar Sports session and Moo Music was a wonderful array of colours, bubbles and funny tails!
The children learnt about why we celebrate St Patrick's Day, looking at Shamrocks before making their own during craft. They also discussed the festival of Holi and made colourful cards to mark this celebration.
In the Honeys class the children celebrated Commonwealth Day by making flags, along with their own cucumber sandwiches for snack.
There has been lots of outside play; using balancing skills to manoeuvre over obstacles, role playing with friends and mark making on the chalk board.
Inside, the children have worked together using the blocks to create paths and bridges, which needed regular maintenance! In craft the children have participated in lots of colourful spring activities; exploring flowers, bees, butterflies and baby animals. To celebrate St Patrick's Day the children made rainbows and pots of gold using finger paints, whilst listening to traditional Irish music, which really got their toes tapping.
The children also learnt about the festival of Holi during circle time and used scoops and pans to explore coloured rice in the tuff tray.
We hope you all have a great weekend, enjoy the sunshine and we will see you all again next week!
