Weekly roundup 9 January 2026

👋 A very warm welcome to all our new children and families. It has been lovely getting to know you throughout the week, and we’re excited to have you as part of our preschool community.

⏳The children in Bumbles have been enjoying the climbing frame this week. We’ve been using sand timers as a visual tool to help them understand when it’s their turn to start and when their time has finished. It’s a great way to support sharing, patience, and independence.

🧤 This week we’ve been talking about the Winter season, what we wear and why it helps keep us warm and comfortable during outdoor play. Please ensure your child's clothes and accessories are named and if possible putting your child’s gloves in their pockets and hats in their sleeves will give them easy access to these.

❄️ As we head into the colder months, we’d like to remind you of our adverse weather policy. We always aim to remain open and provide our usual service; however, this depends on staff being able to travel safely and arrange childcare where needed. Please refer to our policy for full details.

🗓️ Parents’ evening - Our Parents’ Evening will take place on Tuesday 10th February, between 7:00–9:00 pm. We will begin booking appointments from Wednesday 21st January. Please speak to your child’s keyworker or Sophie to secure a time slot.

📅 School Admissions Reminder - A gentle reminder that school admissions close on 15th January. Please ensure applications are completed before this date.

🧑‍🚒 Next Week’s Topic: People Who Help Us Next week we will be learning all about People Who Help Us. We’ll be exploring different roles in our community, such as doctors, firefighters, postal workers, and more. It’s always a lovely topic that helps children understand how people work together to keep us safe and supported.
