Weekly roundup 31 March 2023

This week we have been learning about Easter, talking about how different communities around the world celebrate and how we celebrate in the UK. The children were sharing tales of the Easter Bunny coming and having to find chocolate eggs.

We have been doing Easter Egg hunts throughout the week, with the tables turning half way through the week and the children hiding the eggs from their Key Workers!

Junk modelling has been engaging the children’s imaginations for the last couple of weeks, this week has been popular for making Robots, and then pretending to be Robots and moving like Robots around the Bumbles room. We have also been making Chicks during craft activities, talking about their life cycles.

We have also enjoyed our Moo Music session, Farmer Laura gave us 2 step instructions and actions for example “please pat your head and rub your tummy”. We also used the parachute which was great fun.

During STEM this week we were identifying the missing object, we were given time to look at the tray of objects and then closed or covered our eyes, Laura took one object away and we were all given the opportunity to guess what could be missing.

Bumbles and Honeys have been making Easter nests this week, observing the change in the chocolate from a solid into a liquid, stirring the chocolate into the shredded wheat, and then spooning it into our cupcake case.

If your child is experiencing any difficulties or you have any changes at home you may wish to tell us about, please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s Key Worker or any member of staff.

Preschool is now closed for the Easter holidays. We wish you all a very happy Easter, take care and have a wonderful break, we look forward to seeing you when we return on 17th April.
