Weekly roundup 21 October 2022

It has been a really busy week in Bumbles with children gaining confidence in the room and being more independent trying out new activities. We started the week carving pumpkins and making pumpkin soup, the children made magic wands and magic potions with lavender and red cabbage. On Thursday some of the children went outside litter picking with their wet suits on whilst some enjoyed role playing road safety. We finished the day with a fantastic Moo Music session with farmer Laura which was a great end to our first half term. 

Our first week back after the break, we will be starting our new topic, transport and also celebrating Diwali. 

Our focus story of the week will be Tractor Saves the Day, our colour is Red, number is 8 and our shape of the week is a Circle. 

This week in Honeys we have been reading the Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson, one of our favourites. To support children's understanding we have extended learning by using a story sack with characters - the children enjoyed guessing which animal would come out of the sack. We have been busy bees this week and have enjoyed lots of different craft activities including wand making, pumpkin stamping and hand painting our own spiders. We have also enjoyed dressing up in a variety of costumes, requesting assistance when needed.

Our winner of healthiest lunchbox was Eliana who took home a delicious fruit basket! She was delighted and an inspiration to us all with her varied lunchtime meal full of healthy options! Well done!!!
