Weekly roundup 11 July 2025

This week, we’ve been busy exploring our wonderful world and the exciting idea of holidays! โ˜€๏ธ

We’ve looked at maps together, chatting about different countries, flags, and all sorts of weather – from the icy Arctic,to the hot, dry desert. The children have loved discovering more about their own home countries and those of our staff.

We’ve even learnt how to say “hello” in Cantonese, Slovak and Nigerian

๐ŸŽจ  In arts and crafts, we decorated colourful suitcases, and talked about all the important things we’d pack for a holiday. Popular choices included - teddy bears, swimming costumes, and their families.

โœ‚๏ธ The children have enjoyed lots of mark-making activities this week practising their fine motor skills with - stencils ,scissors  and a variety of tools.

๐ŸŽถDuring circle time, we learnt the days of the week in Spanish and sang a fun song to help us remember them.

๐ŸฆWe’ve had plenty of sensory fun too, especially as we celebrated Sensory Play Day on 10th July. The children made pretend ice creams using kinetic sand. We have also explored different textures and scents, listened to calming sounds like rain, wind, and flowing water. We have also touched materials such as foam, paint, and soft ribbons.

๐ŸŽต Throughout the week, we’ve been enjoying music from around the world, including steel drums from Jamaica, Spanish salsa rhythms and traditional Chinese music.

โœ๏ธ The Bumbles children have been working hard on writing their names and have been so proud to show us their fantastic efforts.

๐ŸŒŸ Coming Up Next Week ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿงธ๐Ÿงบ We’re excited to be hosting a Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Wednesday at lunchtime (this will be for the children that attend Wednesday PM session ) – hopefully outside, weather permitting! Please could your child bring a soft toy along for the fun (named if possible).

โญ A little reminder:
