What a busy week we have had at Pre-school!
We have had visits from the Perryfields Junior School year 6 reading champions who came into Bumbles and engaged the children in reading. What lovely role models they were for our children moving onto their next stage of education.
Jessie, from The Boswells School visited Wednesday and taught some of the children a dance routine to Pharrell Williams, Happy. Jessie will be back next week.
We have had Farmer Laura and her wonderful Moo Music session, which got the children up and moving and learning to name their body parts. Superstar Sports have led another active session, which really got the children listening and following instructions.
Some of the children were able to attend Perryfields Infant and Junior School sports day, which provided lots of motivation and ideas for their own outside play. Bumbles children have been practicing taking their shoes on and off and engaging in some literacy sessions for school transition. They designed their own school uniforms in craft, which led to some valuable discussions about what clothes we wear and why.
Supertato was the book in Bumbles and the children did some lovely potato printing and making their own superhero characters.
In Honeys the book was 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and the children used their physical skills and imagination to act out the story. They used a tunnel and climbing practice getting over, under and through. They also made Ice-Creams and very much enjoyed the water tray play to help keep cool.
In Bumbles next week the book is: Norman the slug with the silly shell, the colour is yellow the number is 6, and the shape is a circle. The letters are 'M' and 'N'.
In Honeys next week the book is 'Duck in the Truck'.
We are also looking forward to welcoming a guide dog and his owner this week!
