Both the Bumbles and Honeys classes have had a great first full week back at Pre-School. The Bumbles class have enjoyed exploring the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears, with lots of conversation during our circle times about the story. The children have been discussing the different characters and how events in the story may of made them feel. We made finger puppets to support our story telling, painted bear masks and discussed big and small, showing off our understanding by completing a ‘What belongs to who?’ worksheet! Our cooking sessions this week also linked to our story, we made oat flapjacks! Yummy!
On Tuesday afternoon, the Bumbles class were very lucky to have two football trainers, Laurence and Jack, come into Pre-School to teach them some football skills. Laurence and Jack are sports coaches who will be coming in until the end of term, giving the children a fun afternoon P.E session once a week.
The Honeys class have welcomed lots of new friends this week, proving to be great role models and showing all the new children the ropes! They’ve enjoyed exploring different vegetables and making ‘vegetable soup’ at the water table, finger painting, small group games, developing their turn taking skills and exploring outside, where they made great use of their welly boots, jumping in muddy puddles! Farmer Laura was back too on Thursday with another great Moo Music session for the children with lots of singing, dancing and bubbles!
Now for a well deserved rest before we start another week of fun and learning next week! We hope you all have a great weekend!
Our colour and shape for next week is orange and square and the Bumbles class will be reading The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
